A tradition unlike any other.
Today is the final round of the 2021 Masters Golf Tournament. I’ve got a side bet going with my good friend George, and let’s just say my guy has a lot of work to do. So does George’s pick. Either way, one of us will collect on the wager in July.
I suppose you’re wondering why I’m writing about golf today. Well, fishing is not the only recreational activity that our guests participate in. Sure, the draw to our area is the world class fishery, but there are a handful of nice little courses nearby too.

We’re no Pinehurst (a shout out to you Uncle Mike), but not many golf courses can offer such a unique experience as Alaska can. How many courses do you know about where you can finish your round after midnight?
Here are the courses you can choose from.
- Kenai Golf Course. 18 hole. Kenai, AK
- Birch Ridge Golf Course. 9 hole. Soldotna, AK
- Bird Homestead Golf Course. 9 hole. Soldotna, AK
- Fireweed Meadows Golf Course. 9 hole. Anchor Point, AK
- Homer Golf Course. 9 hole. Homer, AK

I’d like to thank John Zemke for letting me use photos of his son Lance at the Kenai Golf Course. I didn’t get authorization from the two moose for the photos, but I don’t think they’ll mind. It’s difficult to make out their faces…
See you next week.
