Seward Mermaid Festival

May 18, 2025 //  by beavercreek

Jane and I weren’t so sure if we were going to make it to the Seward Mermaid Festival this year.

We had the camper loaded and ready to go, but getting the water turned on at the cabins had a higher priority than a weekend in Seward.

We ran into a couple of small problems while turning it on and spent Friday making repairs. The day got away from us which meant not going to Seward with our camper.

Saturday morning came and we both felt like we were missing out. We’ve been going to the Seward Mermaid Festival since it began 6 years ago and hated to see the streak end.

Even though we missed the Friday activities we decided to day trip it on Saturday.

Our streak continues.

Last year, it snowed during the festival. This year, the weather was much better.

Of course, there were plenty of people playing dress up for the weekend.

Besides vendors, another highlight of the festival is the live music that is played throughout the day.

We do enjoy all the activities associated with the festival, but the real reason we go is to hang out with our friends, Ron and MJ.

That streak is more important than the festival.

We’re already planning to be there next year for the whole weekend. We hope to be able to reserve the same campsite as we did last year. The view is pretty spectacular.

See you next week.
