Launched at the beginning of the year, the Alaska State Parks has an app available that encourages people to visit and hike the 31 parks across the state.
It’s called the Alaska State Parks Passport Challenge.

The app has interactive mapping software that allows the user to track trails and earn digital badges to show hiking progress.
It’s pretty simple to participate. The rules are:
1. Check into Alaska State Parks locations using OuterSpatial app.
2. Compete with others on the leaderboard.
3. Collect as many badges as possible.
There is an option to upload photos which may be featured on Alaska State Parks’ social media outlets.
The OuterSpatial app can be found here.
Have fun hiking!
