I teed up this blogpost for Jane to write. The working title was Guest Blogger- Jane.
I told her after seven years of writing weekly, I needed a break. It’s not that I ran out of topics, I just didn’t feel like writing.
I showed Jane photos of fireweed and flower baskets and thought that would be inspiration enough to write a story. After all, bright colors and summer heat are right in her wheelhouse
Yeah. That didn’t work.
At least I got a commitment that she’ll help me out and write one some time in the near future.
So, with this in mind, I’m going to write this blogpost in Jane’s voice.

Winter is technically still here, but spring time is right around the corner. I’ve been busy with the usual tasks of running a seasonal business, but it’s hard for me not to drift off and think about the flowers that I’ll be getting for our home, and the cabins. I truly enjoy them, and from the feedback I receive from guests, they do too.

Some years I buy baskets, other years I will create my own. It all depends on the quality at our local greenhouses.

Alaska has a short, intense season for flowering plants. What grows here, grows well.

Maybe one of these years I’ll start flower baskets from seed. Until then, I’ll keep visiting area greenhouses to see what combinations they come up with.
Thanks for reading. See you next week!
