This week, Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski, and Senator Dan Sullivan announced and introduced the Alaska Salmon Research Task Force Act.
The purpose of this Act is to conduct a comprehensive review of salmon science and management. It would involve all state and federal agencies that manage our salmon returns.
Within the year a report will be published that will offer guidance and action for increased salmon abundance and stability. The focus will be on low king returns statewide, and low chum returns to the Arctic-Yukon-Kuskokwim region.
