I’m going to keep this report short. I’m in the middle of the the busiest time of the season, and I’ve got a lot going on. On and off the water.
The week started out a little slow fishing for reds. By the end of the week, it was on fire.
I had hoped to have a fish photo of Nick and Breanna on the blog last week. This week I got my wish with the above photo. That’s Dan joining the two of them with their limit of red salmon.

Nick was “The Fish Whisperer” and had the hot rod all day, but Dan and Breanna can proudly claim the first double of the year.

King salmon fishing can be a noisy, chaotic fishery. On the other hand, red salmon can be much more peaceful. It’s hard to beat fishing on the banks of the Kenai River when the sun is rising.

How about this guy? This is Riley’s third trip to Alaska. You can tell Grandpa George taught him the proper way to pose with a fish.

Here’s Ben, George, Justin, Riley, and Jamieson with a nice haul of red salmon.

The next day it was Justin, Riley, and Jamieson picking up where they left off the day before.
I enjoyed meeting Ben and Jamieson for the first time. I especially enjoyed seeing George, Justin, and Riley again. Thanks, George for bringing the crew with you. We always appreciate your business, but value your friendship even more.

The week ended with Team Minnesota hitting the jackpot. From left to right is Dave, Neva, Sheila, and Fred.
Can’t forget about the moose this past week.

This bull was walking across Angler Drive in the wee hours.

This cow and calf decide to cross the creek on our way out to the fishing grounds.
For the week ahead.
Reds, reds, reds. The run has been strong and I expect more of the same this week. Come back next week to see how we did.
