My favorite season is always the next one. I’m looking forward to winter transitioning to spring.
With spring weather approaching, April is a favorite month.
I think it’s because of all the change that happens in such a short amount of time.
If you live near the equator, the change is less noticeable. If you live in the land of four seasons, the change is more significant. Northern latitude students of phenology are always excited when April rolls around.

The days are getting longer and the snow and ice are starting to melt. Winter is in the rearview.
Soon, migratory birds will return, the moose will calve and the bears will be out of hibernation. Rivers are on the verge of breaking up and shortly, millions of salmon will start their journey home. Open water fishing is just around the corner.

Rebirth, renewal and regrowth. I’m happy April has arrived.
