With high water and muddy river conditions, the choice was obvious not to fish the Kenai this past week.
And, forget about the ocean. I had tentative plans to fish out of Homer one last time, but conditions there have been terrible too.
This blogpost will end the weekly fishing reports for 2020.
Yes, it was difficult to type that last sentence.
It’s now time to write about other topics of interest. Why not start with the annual photos of wipe board comments left behind by our guests.

Jane handles everything in our operation, except for guided fishing. And, if she had time for that, I’m sure she would be doing that too.

Have I told you I’m a lucky guy?

So, when guests leave behind notes of praise on the cabin wipe boards, they too see the hard work she does.

From taking reservations to cleaning cabins and every thing in between, Jane is the heart and soul of our operation.

I, on the other hand, get to handle the entertainment side of things. Would you sooner fish everyday and write a weekly fishing blog, or maintain cabins, do laundry, and answer the phone? Did I mention how lucky I am?

Now that our season is officially over, Jane and I would like to thank everyone who braved an unusual summer of travel. We appreciate your support of our business. More importantly, we continue to value your friendships, and certainly enjoyed and welcomed your company…from a proper distance of course!
Topic next week: 2020 tourism in review and the outlook for 2021.
