Today is Daylight Savings Time, or “Summer Time” in many places in the world. For all of you that still wear a watch, it’s time to “spring forward” and move the clock ahead an hour. For those of you who only use a smart phone, well, you’re good to go.
Here at latitude 60, we’re gaining over five minutes of daylight a day. This is welcome relief for those who are afflicted with seasonal affected disorder (SAD). I do not suffer from SAD, but I do experience salmon fever at this time of the year. The good news is I know the cure is right around the corner. In two months, my salmon fever will abate when the dock goes in. When the dock goes in, so does the boat. And, when the boat goes in, the early run of king salmon begins. Poof. Salmon fever….gone!
It may not look like it now, but the ice in the creek will be gone soon.
Hope springs eternal and I have a good feeling about the 2020 fishing season.
